Ephrah, one-of-a-kind creations artfully revived
from flea market treasures.
|
Dori's inspiring Ephrah collection is a romantic nod of
appreciation to vintage fashion with a very 'now' artistic
approach. Longing for something current and different that
maintains some of the 'old world' flavors and esthetics
Dori created assemblages that interlink vintage brooches
within her uniquely embroidered designs.

"I find beauty in jewelry pieces and jewelry parts, that are a bit worn out",
says Dori. "I have quite a collection of treasures that were found at flea
markets. As I work with these small objects, I imagine the episodes and
fragments of life that they 'experienced' so to speak wile being worn.
Surprisingly enough, I feel that my flea market finds are well matched with
men's neckties that bring their own history and personality to the 'marriage'.
Without a preliminary design, I attach a flower to a butterfly, a leaf to a bird,
altering their context and giving them a new meaning with my individual
language of colors, shapes and cultural references. Through this process,
the collection of objects metamorphoses into a new and unique jewelry
piece that is a window to a different era." |
